New Mexico One Call Names Woodruff Operations Manager

ALBUQUERQUE – New Mexico One Call, Inc. (NMOC), a nonprofit organization that operates a statewide “Call Before You Dig” center, has appointed Dennis J. Woodruff as the organization’s new operations manager.

Woodruff’s responsibilities include overseeing the operations area, New Mexico One Call’s 12 call center operators, mapping coordinator, and maintaining the system’s hardware, software and digital phone system.  He will also help NMOC achieve ISO 9001 certification, an international standard for quality in business.

Woodruff graduated from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1994.  In 2003, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.

After serving 20 years, Woodruff left the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1986.  He began his career in the telecommunications industry as a field engineer.  Prior to joining NMOC, he served as a telecommunications operations manager for MCI for seven years.

Woodruff has managed as many as 17 employees over wide geographical areas, all aspects of telecommunication facilities at eight major locations, and developed and administered operational budgets.  He has also been responsible for developing and monitoring key performance indicators, operating electronic systems, troubleshooting to component levels, and participating in new customer negotiations.

New Mexico One Call was established in 1990 to provide comprehensive, professional damage prevention services through operation of a statewide center for dig notification. Currently, the organization has 251 members who own or operate nearly 90,000 miles of underground cable and pipeline.

Under state and federal law, anyone planning a dig is required to notify the owners of underground facilities and pipelines in the area of the dig at least two days in advance.

To report a dig, anyone can call (800) 321-ALERT (800-321-2537) statewide, or 260-1990 in Albuquerque.  For more information, visit New Mexico One Call’s website at www.nmonecall.org or call (505) 260-1165 in Albuquerque.
